If you have both a first and a last name seal the one with your family name will usually go under the signature. Your personal name seal may go under the last name seal but is seldom used directly above it since, in Chinese style, the family name goes first. Double seals are not uncommon, in which both first and last names are made to look like separate seals but are carved on one seal stone—one over the other with some space between them. A personal/first name seal by itself can go anywhere else on a work of art, wherever the design dictates. Any other seals: artistic aliases, studio names, pictorial seals, and so on can also be placed anywhere an artist wants.
