Yan Xin

Here’s another seal from the Shanghai Museum. I like this design in the shape of a heart. The characters are uncertain; the Museum says it is 信 xin, but I’m pretty sure there’s more than one character here. At any rate, I have no idea what it means. But that doesn’t keep me from enjoying the design.

This obviously personal, as opposed to official, seal was created during the Warring States period (476-221 BCE), was cast from bronze, and is very small.
